El presidente de la Federación Peruana de Fútbol (FPF) salió al frente a desmentir las especulaciones que indicaban que este año no habría descenso. Manuel Burga señaló que se respetará lo que manifiesta en las Bases, por lo tanto, al final del campeonato perderán la categoría los equipos que queden en el puesto 15 y 16.

“Son rumores que siempre salen al final de un campeonato desde hace tres o cuatro años. Las Bases son claras y reafirmo que como está estipulado, sí habrá baja. Los equipos que terminen en la 15º y 16º posición perderán la categoría, así de simple, más claro no puedo ser", declaró Manuel Burga a CMD.

El titular de la FPF sostuvo que estos rumores surgen debido al pedido de de algunos clubes que se ven comprometidos con el descenso y que quieren seguir en primera.

"Lo que pasa es que algunos delegados de clubes, que están peleando el descenso y no se han visto beneficiados con sumar puntos producto de reclamos en mesa, han mandado cartas proponiendo que no haya baja, pero no se puede pasar por encima de lo que dicen las Bases. Pero quiero además hacer una salvedad, desde hace 3 años hay una norma en la FIFA que dice que la categoría solo se gana por derecho de cancha y por licencia. Aquí en el Perú no hay licencia y el derecho de cancha se está jugando", agregó.
