La federación de fútbol inglesa (FA en sus siglas en inglés) puso hoy en marcha una investigación sobre los supuestos comentarios racistas del capitán del Chelsea, John Terry, al defensa del Queens Park Rangers, Anton Ferdinand el pasado domingo.

Terry negó categóricamente las acusaciones, pero varios vídeos colgados en internet tras el partido podrían demostrar que el capitán de la selección inglesa insultó a Ferdinand con comentarios racistas.

El zaguero emperimentado dijo hoy que estaba "contento" de que se haya puesto en marcha la investigación y así poder "limpiar su nombre".

La federación inglesa aseguró a través de un comunicado que había recibido una queja relacionada con un incidente de agresión racista en el partido del Queens Park Rangers contra el Chelsea en el estadio Loftus Road el 23 de octubre y que se toma "muy en serio" este tipo de acusaciones.

El entrenador del los 'blues', Andre Villas-Boas, apoyó a su capitán y dijo: "John es un jugador que representa este país al más alto nivel internacional, y él me ha dicho que se trata de un malentendido"
